The rods: outgoing or telescopic

The outgoing rods come out of the cabinet on the opposite side of the knob. The telescopic safety devices - thanks to a simple mechanism inside them - do not protrude. Their function is to ensure the safety of young children, protecting them from the risk of possible blows to the face and eyes. We recommend its use if the foosball is to be inserted in a room frequented by children.

With or without top glass?

The glass that completely covers the playing area dampens the noise of the matches, prevents tampering with the game such as the insertion of obstacles behind the doors to prevent the balls from going to the goal and prevents the theft of balls. However, the Italian public appreciates football more with the open playing field. Consequently, the choice to prefer a model with superior glass must be preceded by careful evaluation. The Garlando models with top glass are Olympic, Olympic Silver, Olympic Outdoor and Covered.

Indoor or outdoor ?

The outdoor footballs, Deluxe Outdoor and Olympic Outdoor, can also be used indoors, so all year round. All other indoor models are intended for indoor use and must never be exposed directly to the elements. In some cases, however, with appropriate precautions, they can be kept outdoors. In this regard, however, it is not possible to establish a rule that is always valid, as it is necessary to evaluate the climatic conditions of a particular place. For example, if the area is characterized by a high rate of saline (near the sea), it is not advisable to keep the football outdoors even if protected by a canopy because the chrome plating of the rods could be damaged. In other cases, however, it may be enough to use the protective cover during the summer and shelter the table inside in the winter.

What does it mean that the goalkeeper rotates on himself

The footballs can be built with the goalkeeper that rotates 360 degrees, that is, makes a complete turn on itself, or makes a partial rotation to 180 degrees, bumping with their feet against the door. The latest is the version normally used in Italy, available for all models of the bar line except for the Olympic Outdoor, produced only with the goalkeeper rotating.

When to choose Duet

The characteristic that distinguishes Duetto from all other Garlando footballs is the fact that it can only be used by two players, instead of four. Duetto in fact has the mobile (and, consequently, the playing field) of reduced length. For this reason, it is the ideal football when space is limited.

Choose a model with coin box for private use

In cases where a very robust model is needed, for example the use by the community, it is advisable to prefer a basketball player from the bar line, possibly requiring that the coinage be deactivated in order to play without paying. The operation is reversible and in the future it will be possible to reactivate it, should the need arise to play for a fee.

Some insights to clarify your ideas

Maracana or Deluxe

The Maracanà is a cheaper version of the Deluxe: it has plastic knobs (instead of plastic with wooden inserts), it is without a beverage rack, it does not have an aluzink lined door.

Deluxe Outdoor or Olympic Outdoor

As you can guess from the name, they are both outdoor models. The most obvious difference is that the first one has no top glass, while the Olympic Outdoor has a covered playing area. For the purposes of the game, the most relevant difference is given by the fact that the Olympic Outdoor has the goalkeeper who rotates completely on himself. The game top is in glass on Deluxe Outdoor, in plastic laminate on Olympic Outdoor.

Olympic, Olympic Silver or Covered

The three models have in common the glass that covers the playing field. The Olympic is a cheaper version of the Blanket: it has plastic knobs instead of plastic and wood, it is not equipped with gas springs to support the top of the cabinet (can be mounted on request). Olympic Silver takes up and adds characteristics of the Olympic, especially in the structure of the furniture, and of the World Champion (legs, upholstery colours, adjustable feet as standard).

Tournament or World Champion

These are two versions of the same model, both used in competitions. Approved by the Italian Football Federation, Tournament is suitable for the Italian style of play as it has a non-rotating goalkeeper. Supplied as standard with telescopic safety rods (outgoing rods on request). World Champion, the model of the Garlando international tournaments has a rotating goalkeeper and outgoing poles.
