It is back to daily life Hartberg, the Southern Austria town which for four days (29th July to 1st August) was crowded with players, spectators, journalists and simple onlookers for the Weltmeisterschaft, the biggest Garlando event of the year.With a great organization by TFBÖ, under the ITSF licence, the tournament was also made possible thanks to A.und S. Spielgeräte, Garlando official distributor for Austria, who supplied the tables. The competition had a sporty and friendly atmosphere resulting from the over 500 players from 20 different nations, enjoying their yearly summer meeting in Austria. The Austrian Women National team won the champion title, while the Mens National was only fourth (after Germany, Poland and Switzerland).The British Robert Atha and the Belgian Frédéric Collignon, respectively the first and the second in the Open Singles, confirmed to be the best world players. As for women, local player Verena Rohrer gained the first prize, reaffirming an already known superiority which was furtherly confirmed by the success in the Womens Double, where she played with Melissa Mosser.
